Music Theory for the Beginner to Intermediate with Prof. James Hartway

New Fall 2026! We are offering eight 75 minute weekly lessons at Sierra 2, starting the week of September 7 and ending the week of October 31. There are no age restrictions, and you do not need to know any theory to get started. You will receive personalized and group support. The class will introduce these skills in an easy to understand approach. Plus usage in everyday music playing, practicing, memorizing and understanding.

I Basic Theory - scales, intervals, triads and rhythm;

II Chords and Harmony

III Listening Skills

IV Basis of Creativity - Improvisation and Chord Progressions

Tuition: 8 lessons for $400.
